Honey Glazed Spiral Ham

For the Holiday Season

Ingredients

  • Fully cooked, spiral-sliced smoked ham (10–12 lb)   (1)
  • Orange juice   (1 cup)
  • Butter, melted   (¼ cups)
  • Hot honey, for brushing 

Sugar Crust

  • Granulated sugar   (½ cups)
  • Brown sugar   (1 cup)
  • Lawry's seasoned salt   (½ tsp)
  • Onion powder   (½ tsp)
  • Cinnamon   (1 tsp)
  • Nutmeg   (½ tsp)
  • Ground cloves   (½ tsp)
  • Ground ginger   (½ tsp)
  • Sweet paprika   (½ tsp)
  • Ground allspice   (¼ tsp)

Glaze

  • Apple cider vinegar   (1 tbsp)
  • Dijon mustard   (1 tbsp)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat oven to 275°F. Place ham flat-side down on a rack in a roasting pan. Pour orange juice into the bottom of the pan.

  2. Warm Ham: Mix melted butter with hot honey. Brush over ham, including between slices. Cover loosely with foil. Bake 10 minutes per pound.

  3. Add Sugar Crust: Mix all sugar crust ingredients. Remove foil and coat ham generously, including between slices. Reserve 3 tbsp pan drippings.

  4. Broil: on high for 5 minutes until caramelized.

  5. Make Glaze: Combine the reserved ham drippings, remaining sugar mixture, vinegar, and mustard. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.

  6. Final Broil: Drizzle glaze over ham. Broil 2 minutes.

  7. Serve: Rest briefly, then serve warm.
