About Me

Hey, it's great to meet you! I'm Zach Olivare πŸ‘‹ (pronounced "olive air"). I really, truly appreciate you taking the time to read through my blog!

I am a UI architect, with a focus on web-accessibility and a variety of Fullstack experience. I'm based out of Milwaukee, WI and currently work (remotely) at SkySlope as a Lead Software Engineer.

I have industry leading expertise with React, CSS, and TypeScript. I have implemented design systems for four different companies, published more than a dozen NPM packages, and made contributions to popular open source libraries. I've taught classes on Git, and lead teams of varying shapes and sizes.

I've created applications for the web, desktop, mobile, and embedded devices. I work closely with UX designers (I'm also married to one πŸ’) and build applications that are accessible to everyone. With more than 10 years of industry experience, I am dedicated to finding effective solutions to complex problems.

When I'm not writing code, I enjoy cooking, photography, and spending time with my wife Kierstyn and my two dogs, Lola and Fitz. I'm an avid Brewers fan ⚾️ and love venturing into the great outdoors whenever possible.

One of my passions is sharing knowledge, and doing so in a way that's really easy for people to consume. That's why I decided to start this blog! Feel free to take a read, and let me know how I'm doing!
